March 15-17: Be transported to a Greek island paradise via a performance of the sunny, funny tale of a woman’s quest to find her birth father, Mamma Mia, presented by the Woodstock YoH Theatre.
March 15-17 & beyond: 2019’s Best Picture Oscar winner is coming to Woodstock! Take a stroll to Pentangle Art’s Town Hall Theatre for a showing of Green Book, a biopic that mingles comedy and drama with superb performances by Mahershala Ali and Viggo Mortensen.
March 16-17: Don’t wait to get your post-ski party on! This is the final weekend of Après Ski at Suicide Six Ski Area – featuring music by Four Hoarsmen on Saturday and St. Patty’s Day fun on Sunday, complete with live tunes from Still Hill.
March 16-17: Knives aren’t the only thing you can sharpen in the kitchen! Saturday and Sunday, choose from hands-on souffle, pasta, and pizza cooking classes to hone your skills with Odyssey Events in Bridgewater.
THURSDAY, MARCH 14…
6 – 8:30 PM: It’s all fun and games till someone calls out, “BINGO!” At Bingo Night at the Ransom Tavern in South Woodstock, you’ll find fabulous, authentic Neapolitan food, great company, and that classic game of chance where you could be the winner.
6:30 – 8 PM: Want a night out with a twist? Head to Artistree for an evening where you’ll Mix, Mingle & Make creative art pieces with friends old and new. All skill levels are welcome at this open-studio for adults. $5 drop-in fee.
7 – 9 PM: Then, keep the good times rolling at Artistree with their Open Mic Night! Hosted by Jim Yeager, this chill, supportive, and totally free session gives you the chance to show your musical talents or enjoy the skills of others.
7 – 9 PM: Or if you’re looking for a different cerebral experience, check out Thursday Pub Trivia at the Public House in Quechee to test your know-how and see how you stack up against the competition.
7:30 - 9:30 PM: 56 years later, 007’s magnetism is still positively shocking in the film, From Russia with Love, playing today only at Pentangle Arts’ Woodstock Town Hall Theatre.
FRIDAY, MARCH 15…
11 AM – 12 PM: Through song, movement, and outdoor exploration, your little ones can experience a day in the life of the winter wood’s smallest residents during a presentation of Small Wonders: Discoveries for the Season at the Vermont Institute of Natural Science in Quechee.
6:30 – 9 PM: Take a trip to the museum – at night! At Montshire Unleashed at the Montshire Museum in Norwich, spend a night out with friends, meet a date, or chat with fellow STEM lovers over drinks, food, music, and of course, science.
SATURDAY, MARCH 16…
Beginning at 10 AM, get hands on with your pick of three unique activities for all ages:
- 10 AM – 12:30 PM: Glass Fusing workshop at Artistree
- 10 AM – 4 PM: Winter Forest Fairy Hunt and Snake Appreciation Day at VINS
- 10 AM – 5 PM: Day for Science (with free admission) at the Montshire Museum of Science
11:30 AM – 2 PM: Then, whet your appetite with a winter wonderland trek through the snow of Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park! Ski or snowshoe your way to a cozy cabin in the woods for a piping hot meal during the Saturday Soup Kettle Lunch at the Mt Tom Cabin. Featuring White Bean & Sausage Soup with Shredded Parmesan Cheese, with French Bread.
3 – 5 PM: Get your backhand on with a round of Shamrocks & Serves Tennis at the Woodstock Athletic Club.
6 – 10 PM: Later, lock down your evening plans with a St Patty's Celebration at The Barnard Inn & Max's Tavern, featuring local Irish fare, a live performance by Trifolium, and endless fun for the entire family.
SUNDAY, MARCH 17… IS ST. PATRICK’S DAY!
Celebrate in style and enjoy the luck of the Irish with these 4 festive adventures:
- 10 AM – 7 PM: St. Patrick's Day Celebration at Long Trail Brewing in Bridgewater with a performance by Sammy Blanchette, corned beef and cabbage, special pourings, and a raffle.
- 11 AM – 1 PM: Family Fun Day at the Quechee Base Lodge, sugar cookie decorating, a scavenger hunt, and arts & crafts activities as part of Feeling Lucky for St. Patrick's Day at the Quechee Club.
- 2 – 5 PM: St. Patrick’s Day fare – corned beef and cabbage, fish and chips, and more – and live music featuring Greg Goedewaagen & Friends at Bentley’s Restaurant
- 7 – 8:30 PM: A free St. Patrick's Day Acoustic Session at Artistree’s HayLoft (donations welcome)
