January 26-27: Or head back to nature during this January Weekend at Billings Farm & Museum, complete with a tour of the local farm animals’ winter homes, walkthroughs of the 1890s farmhouse dressed in period style, and showings of the Academy Award-nominated film, A Place in the Land.

THURSDAY, JANUARY 24…
1 – 2 PM: Live music’s right around the corner when fiddler Adam Boyce and guitarist Merv Comes share their rhythmic genius at the Thompson Senior Center.
3 – 4 PM: Dust off your chefs hats, because a Culinary Kids class is coming to Norman Williams Public Library, where children will learn to make protein energy bites. Advanced registration required.
4:30 – 5:30 PM: Then, hear from Upper Valley Land Trust Programs Director Alison Marchione during a session of Green Drinks with Sustainable Woodstock! Gather at Worthy Kitchen to learn what UVLT has accomplished, the trust’s future plans, and why land conservation is important for all in our changing world.

- 5 – 6:30 PM: Join the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Arts Program for an uplifting array of multimedia artwork, from woodworking to paint, felt, pastel, and photography. During the Winter Art Exhibit Opening at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH, you’ll find light refreshments, artist introductions, and a self-guided art walk through the collections of 8 artists.
- 5:30 – 6:30 PM: Visit the AVA Gallery and Art Center also in Lebanon for an Artist Talk with photographer Richard Perry.
FRIDAY, JANUARY 25…
5:30 – 7:30 PM: Get ready for the culmination of local artists’ year-long commitment to daily art-making! Inspiring works of painting, drawing, fiber, ceramics, jewelry and photography are on display at this Artistree Daily Artists Exhibit 2018 Opening Reception – a free event.
Beginning at 6 PM, choose your adventure:
- 6 PM: Cornhole Tournament at The Engine Room in WRJ
- 6 – 8 PM: S'more Ice Skating Party with the Lebanon Recreation & Parks Department
7 – 9 PM: Then, kids’ fun has just begun with Splash Night at the Upper Valley Aquatic Center in WRJ, available for children grades 4-8. It’s a night of poolside games, music, and food for $5 at the door.
SATURDAY, JANUARY 26…
9 AM – 1 PM: Get your grocery shopping done the local, fresh way at the Norwich Farmers Market - Winter Market edition at Tracy Hall!
10 AM – 12:30 PM: Craft beautiful works of glass at Artistree! During this glass fusing workshop, you'll learn how to use ceramic molds to kiln-cast glass keepsake hearts just in time for Valentine’s Day. See website for pricing and registration.
10:30 AM – 4:30 PM: The stars have aligned for a spectacular day of science at the Montshire Museum! During Astronomy Day, the whole family can touch a piece of the solar system, meet astronomers, partake in DIY solar system and comet models, craft earth, moon, and sun diagrams, and much more!

3 & 5:30 PM: Catch a showing of the Middle Eastern political drama called “engaged and astute” by Anthony Lane of the New Yorker, The Insult, coming to Billings Farm & Museum as part of the Woodstock Vermont Film Series.
3:30 – 5 PM: Saturday Après Ski is back at Suicide Six, this time with live jams provided by Jim Yeager!

1 – 3 PM: Make it a Sunday funday with Music & Marys brought to life by a DIY cocktail bar and the indie-inspired acoustic guitar and vocals of AliT at SILO Distillery in Windsor!
1 – 3 PM: Or take an educational approach with a woodland history presentation at Billings Farm! During Thirty-Eight: The Hurricane That Transformed New England, you'll hear from journalist and co-founder of Northern Woodlands magazine, Stephen Long, on Hurricane Katrina's damage and the unprecedented recovery operation.
