December 13-15, 2019: Wassail Weekend

Take your holiday celebrations to the next level with Wassail Weekend, dashing through Woodstock and leaving good cheer in its wake! Explore the charming village, aglow with twinkling lights and garland, then step inside stately homes during holiday house tours.

Hear Christmas tales and the clear, beautiful voices of The Whiffenpoofs and carolers alike, warm your fingers and toes in front of the yule log, meet Old Saint Nick, watch the stunning spectacle of the Wassail Weekend Parade, and much, much more.

New Years

December 21, 2019 – January 1, 2020 (excluding Christmas Day): Christmas at the Farm

Make your next holiday tradition a piece of the past when you celebrate at Billings Farm & Museum! Admire the period-perfect decorations within the 1890s Farm Manager’s House, meet resident farm animals, dip candles, and craft your own ornaments. So much wonder awaits…

December 31, 2019: New Years’ Eve Bash at the Woodstock Inn & Resort

It’s time to trade the mistletoe for the Times Square Ball… because the last day of 2019 is here! Don we now our most sparkly apparel to ring in the new decade with live music, a delectable meal, and a few of your favorite people at the Woodstock Inn & Resort.

January 18, 2020: Winter Wildlife Celebration at the Vermont Institute of Natural Science

There’s no need to hibernate! During the celebration of this season’s resilient creatures, attendees young and old will walk the wintry trails during guided hikes, partake in games, activities, and crafts, and warm themselves beside a cheery fire. It’s all happening just 15 minutes away in Quechee.

January 26, 2020: FISK Trophy Race at SASKADENA Six (formerly Known as Suicide Six)

It’s all downhill from here – and we mean that in the best possible way! Grab a cowbell and get ready, because the longest-running ski race in the continent is back, bringing spectator-worthy Olympians, US Ski Team members, and NCAA Champions to Pomfret.

Torchlight

February 15, 2020:

  • Igloo Build and the Science of Winter at the Montshire Museum: Do you want to build a snowman? How about a whole snow-village? During this wintertime tradition, the whole family will learn how to construct an insulated, sturdy house strong enough to support the weight of a polar bear. Plus, stick around for snowshoe adventures and ice experiments – happening in nearby Norwich from 10:30 AM – 2 PM.
  • President’s Weekend Torchlight Parade & Dance at Saskadena Six: Get your glow on as you parade throughout Saskadena Six Ski Area, torch in hand, then dance the night away in the warm and cozy lodge. And best of all? It’s free and open to everyone!

February 22, 2020: Abe-BERM-Ham’s Fatbike Slalom at SASKADENA Six

It’s time to shred, winter-style on the banked slalom downhill course at Saskadena Six! Berms aplenty await competitors in men’s and ladies’ open and masters divisions, plus youth and grom categories. Food, fun, and live music up the ante on this action (and snow-) packed day on the slopes.
