Events Maple Open House Weekend

Date

This event has no more occurrences

Enjoy samples of many maple items including 4 grades of syrup, maple cream, maple butter, maple horseradish mustard, maple apple drizzle and maple cheesecake mix. Visit with the Luce family sugar makers and learn how sap is collected both with buckets and modern plastic tubing and then boiled with an old fashioned wood fired evaporator into pure Vermont maple syrup.

The boiling schedule is determined by sap flow which is determined by cold nights below freezing and warm days in the 40's and 50's. The farm will be open all weekend for touring and samples, but folks wishing to see the actual boiling should call to check times. Walk in the maple woods, stop in the sampling room to taste 15 kinds of cheese and enjoy samples of many local Vermont food producers. Shipping available. Farm is located on a gravel (mud ?) town maintained road 5 miles outside Woodstock.
