December 28 | 3:00 pm - 4:15 pm

The fastest animals on land, Cheetahs, are currently running the most important race of their lives: the race for survival. Kenya is one of their last strong holds in East Africa and is home to just over 1000 cheetahs living on mostly unprotected land, sharing the landscape with human settlements and development.

The organization, Action for Cheetahs in Kenya (ACK), is dedicated to conserving cheetahs through research, community education and participation and human-wildlife conflict mitigation. Join VINS to learn about ACK’s fascinating efforts to understand Kenya’s cheetah population as well as the specific techniques ACK has implemented in communities to decrease conflicts between cheetahs and humans. These varied grassroots programs run by ACK are all key to the long term survival of these iconic predators in Kenya.
