What does it mean to be part of a farming community?  Farm Discovery Camp takes a deeper dive into what it means to be a farmer and explores the ins and outs of a working dairy farm and all that it encompasses. Campers can experience the daily rhythms of the farm, learn to care for the animals and land, and broaden their understanding of the farming industry.  Campers will meet local professionals and farmers who are leaders in their fields including the Billings Dairy Farm Manager, a large animal veterinarian, and more. Through an array of hands-on experiences and service projects, campers will gain an awareness of the many ways that food systems and ecosystems are interconnected and how this impacts communities.  Some of the camp activities will include fiber arts projects such as felting wool from the Billings Farm sheep, exploring the Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park with a park ranger, and learning how to care for the farm’s calves.  Billingsfarm.org/farm-discovery-camp/
