Art

Since early in Woodstock's history, artists and artisans have come to the area to enjoy the beauty of the Ottauquechee River Valley. Ivan Albright, Paul Sample and Edward Hopper are a few of the American artists that have made the Woodstock Area their home. Today the Woodstock Area offers a variety of art and artists — from well-know European artists at Artemis Global Art, New England Artist at Woodstock Gallery and our own Kitty O'Hara and Chip Evans to name a few. The area is also home to Shackleton Thomas-woodworker and potter, Vermont Farmhouse Pottery, Andrew Pearce- wooden bowls and Simon Pearce — world-renown glass blower. Many area artists participate in Open Studio Weekends held throughout the state on Memorial Day Weekend and Columbus Day Weekend.
