Woodstock Area Chamber of Commerce

| EVENTS DRIVEN COMMITTEES These are short-term commitments that are fun and fast. We usually need people with energy who are willing to commit to a day or a few hours of intense work with the public. Consider joining a committee as each of these is geared to a one-time event. Pasta Supper Committee (4-5 to organize the committee with a total of 20-25 the day of the event) This event has celebrated the runners of the Covered Bridges Half Marathon on the first weekend in June. Planning begins in early part of the year and is a fundraiser for the Chamber. Fundraiser Committee (4-5 to organize with a total of 30-40 working together at the event) This Gala Dinner Dance is one of the main fundraising events for our Chamber. Last year, it was held the last Saturday in August. We have partnered with the Spectrum Teen Center for many years on this event. We will also be looking into an online raffle to raise funds this year as well. Wassail Committee (4-5 to organize with Green Mountain Horse Association with the whole town working together) Planning begins early in the year for this December event. This includes lighting the town, coordinating over ten non-profit group events and designing a way for the Chamber to raise funds during this event. INFRASTRUCTURE COMMMITTEES Leadership Committee (4 Officers plus Director) No new members are required. The group meets monthly two weeks prior to the Board of Directors meetings to keep the flow of office, committee work and Board business flowing smoothly. Events Committee to develop long range goals for Chamber-driven events for attraction to the Woodstock Area. Sub-committees include: Auto Show in May, Sidewalk Sale in August and a new Green Market on the Green during the summer season Membership Committee (2-3 members working closely with Chamber Director) Organized to build and develop membership in the Chamber and structure the dues. Maintain contact with current members and develop new member benefits. Marketing/Technology Committee (4-5 board members) This committee was organized to focus on the branding of Woodstock and to promote travel to the Woodstock area. Advises on website development and printed material published by the Chamber. A representative may want to attend Woodstock Identity Committee meetings as well. Board Members are asked to be on at least two committees and many serve as Committee Chairpeople. We hope to be able to give each new Committee Chairperson a list of willing members to help out. Thanks for your involvement! |
